peopleDefinition from Wiktionary, the free dictionary Jump to: navigation, search Wikipedia has an article on: PeopleFrom Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. The English noun people (singular "person") refers to a plurality of human beings. It has two usages:
Because the word people often refers to abstract and general types of groups, the word persons is sometimes used in place of people, especially when it would be ambiguous with its collective sense (e.g. missing persons instead of people). It can collectively refer to all humans or it can be used to identify a certain ethnic or religious group. For example, "people of color" is a phrase used in North America to describe non-whites. Why do people ask people from the internet important medical questions concerning themselves? I am baffled at some of the medical questions I see people asking about themselves on here, especially when they have already been given an answer from there doctor which they have visited on the issue. Why do they not ask there doctor these questions, or get a second opinion from another doctor. I am amazed that people would turn to people from the internet, who they do not know, to answer a question concerning there health, and welfare. What are your views on this? Some people are asking out of curiosity, maybe someone can give them some insight, or maybe someone has experience the same thing, or things to think about before going to the doctor. But when some people come on here and ask what shall I do my baby has had fever for days now, or questions like that .. is beyond me. Those people are just stupid. Common sense would tell anyone with brains when to ask and when to call or head to the doctor. Answered by Horse Up - Mon Oct 27 11:49:49 2008 Why do people make fun of others when walking down the street? Q. Why do people find the need to laugh at someone who's just minding their own business walking down the street? I'm talking about snickering, giving dirty looks, whispering and pointing to their friends to laugh too or making sure that the person sees them laugh. I can't understand why people would do this since the person is not bothering anybody... Why would people do this, since I've seen this rude behavior coming from multiple people? Some people say its because of a lack of self-esteem but isnt that being kind of nice about it? To me it seems just really mean and spiteful. If someone did that to me i'd punch them in the face. I don't know why anyone would do this, but I think you just need to be a man and assert dominance over them. I wouldn't let anyone do that to me.. Answered by V T - Tue Jan 26 04:44:09 2010 How can I prevent people from taking advantage of me constantly and not live in regret?
Q. Everyone I have been dealing with in business has been letting me down in so many ways that I just want to disappear. I am constantly sorry dealing with people after losing my money, energy and time. I am losing with each and every single one of them. I am constantly making mistakes with the people I choose to trust and work with. I give more respect to these people than I give to myself and then they spit on me or rudly ignor me and take the money and literally run. I have robed myself of too much all the time and I know better but I give people the benefit of the doubt anyway. How can I change and what can I do to stop being so nice to people who don't care about me. I am far from being finanically rich and everyone knows this, so… [cont.] Asked by TVStar! - Fri Oct 5 06:04:11 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Business is business. Figure out what you need to make in order to make a sufficient profit and stick to it. "Nice" should not be in a business vocabulary. "Friendly, good service, good product, timely", these are business words. People will always take what they can get. It's up to you to present your business in an attractive way and still make a profit. Figure out what your true investment is, decide on a price, and have the confidence to be firm about it. Find other reasons why people will want what you have,i.e. quality, style, exclusivity, speed, etc. Sell those points.
