Q. I have a friend who lives in Nabeul, if i was to learn the language to converse more with them, would it be better to learn french or tunisian. I was just wondering which one they would speak in Nabeul... does it depend on the age group? would younger generations speak french and the older generations speak tunisian or arabic? does it vary depending on the different areas? Or am i completely wrong? If someone could help me that would be great as we can then communicate more, and i can then concentrate on learning bits of the language spoken there. Thanks!

A. Hi, all Tunisians speak Arabic(old and young people).Arabic is the official language in Tunisia. In Tunisia,we study French from the earliest years in school ,that's why most of us(old and young tunisians) can understand and speak french. for english , most of young people can undersatand and speak english ,but old people they are not very good in english .
